- Nobelium is the heaviest of the Group VIA elements. It is very near the
- end of the transuranium portion of the actinide series. It is a transuranium
- element because it is an element heavier than uranium, and it is an actinide
- because it belongs to the series of elements between actinium (element 89)
- and lawrencium (element 103).
